Hello! This event is available for every day in Chania?
Thank you,
Orsi
Dear Orsi,
The Traditional “Strata” event in Chania is not held every day, but rather takes place once a week, every Tuesday evening throughout the summer season, typically from June through the end of September
Here’s how it unfolds:
What to expect: Starting around 20:00 from Neorio Moro, the procession continues to Yiali Tzami (the mosque) and concludes at the Cathedral Square (Trimartiri), featuring traditional Cretan music, dance, and costumes
Frequency: The Strata happens every Tuesday evening, not daily
Duration: The series spans the summer months—June through late September—with new associations performing each week, totaling around 16 performances
So, if your stay falls on a Tuesday night during this period, you’ll be perfectly timed to enjoy the vibrant celebration.
Warm regards,
Milonakis Family
